a new band for you all

Oh my goodness - I have discovered a new love. Singer, Nina Persson from the Cardigans has started up a new band called A Camp, and it is oh so lovely. They are coming Monday night to Kilby. So if you are up for a stellar summer night of music in a ghetto half garage half venue type atmosphere, then you should come - it will be amazing.

LIsten to Stronger then Jesus and The Crowning, or buy the whole cd. You will thank me for it, of this I am sure.

this made me happy

A daily routine for Jack and I, is to go looking for bugs and such after Cash goes down for his nap. It is nice, because I can turn off the morning cartoons without the drama and devastation that Jack should win awards for, and also because it keeps the noise volume down to nothing so the Cashman can really get a good long nap. It also gives me some good gardening time while Jack pretends he is Lightening McQueen and zooms back and forth across the lawn with very realistic racecar noises.

On today's adventure, Jack met a daddy-long-leg for the first time and didn't really like it. I discovered those bloody aphids are already eating my lovely roses and I didn't really like that.

But then we found that the cute little robin who built a nest in one of our trees out front, had her eggs finally hatch. How do their eggs get to be such a beautiful turquoise blue. I wish I had a skirt in that color.

bang, bang

Last night we went and saw The Brother's Bloom (many thanks again to aunt Shelby for watching our hooligans so late into the night). It is only showing at the Broadway, which as old and creepy as it is, I secretly love for it's romanticized old and simple nature.

The movie was spectacular and had some of the coolest cinematography and character and costume set ups. I'll admit... I have and will always be a sucker for a twisted hopeless love story. There were moments when I, along with everyone in the theater, was laughing out loud. So beautiful, sad, hilarious and bizarre.

So go see it. It is at the top of my summer movie list.

we took our little family up to heber with grandma and grandpa to spend a day with thomas and friends. jackie's little head almost came off his little body he was so excited. we had a great day thinking about loved ones, eating pizza and playing at the park.

we also thought about jay bennett, and listened to yankee hotel foxtrot.
