I am loving Jessica Lea Mayfield these days. I have both her albums (1: with blasphemy so heartfelt 2: tell me), and caught her show while we were in Nashville a few weeks back. I love they way she draws out her songs/words when she sings - reminds me a little of Lucinda Williams that way - a lazy kind of singing, for lack of a better way of describing it. She's great though. Give er a listen why don't you.
Our friends Machelle & Dylan, introduced me to lemon basil last night. They made us this amazing dinner - such great cooks. She put together some baguettes with cheese and this fresh lemon basil she grew, and oh! Why did I not know this herb existed?! I am growing it this summer and eating it every day from then on out.
I grew up around brothers, the neighborhood had more boys my age then girls... so I grew up loving starwars. Now... having 3 boys myself, I am happy they like it so much too. If you had any kind of childhood around starwars, you'll love this:
Ry and the Lower Lights crew singing Hank Williams, House of Gold this weekend.
So nice to have him back home.
Ry and the Lower Lights left this weekend to tour up through Boise Idaho, Burbank and Spokane Washington, for a few shows. If you find yourself anywhere in that area, you should hit them up. You will love it.
