Ryan just developed some film recently. Every time he does - I am desperate to find more wall space... I want every single one of them up. This most recent shot of a field in Nashville will be the focus of my living room I've decided. I need to get it printed large, really large, and find a frame large enough that I don't have to have a custom one made. Then the whole room will work around it.
It's hard to explain, but it says so much about me, ry and a life we keep trying to aspire to. I could be reading too much into it sure, but if it was just aesthetics alone - the colors and composition would still sell me. I just love it.
Ryan, Paul Jacobsen, Mark Smith and Dylan Schorer just finished a great set on The Music City Roots show in Nashville. They played Judgement Day, Days to Think of You, Lonely Night, My Madeline (a favorite with all the kids) and ended with Peaceful Mind. I took the gang over to the Smith's house for some yummy Thai food and hung out with Emily and Holly (Mark and Paul's wives) while we watched the live feed. I hope we all hang out again soon.
Tomorrow the boys head back home and I couldn't be more excited to have Ry back. At one point during the show, Ryan joked to the audience that if anyone wanted to adopt him - he really wanted to stay and live in Nashville. At least I think he was joking.
Please come home Ryan. I'm counting the hours!

I made him these digital download tags for people to purchase his EP since he ran out of his actual CD before he could produce more. My photography is horrible at 1 in the morning, but you get the idea. I think they turned out pretty cool.

Ryan brought these back to me on his last trip to Nashville. They are very Wes Anderson and I couldn't love them more. It took me several days to work up the courage to actually deface one with my sketches... I didn't want to touch their perfection. The blue one is now devoted to my outdoor projects and gardening notes. Not sure what the other two will hold yet. Aren't they just lovely?
Getting out to see my heartthrob play is getting harder and harder now that we have 3 kids. Most of Ry's shows don't even
begin until after 9pm, so I always feel like I am asking too much of
our babysitters, and seem to find myself going less and less.
Luckily I have some pretty amazing sisters, grandmas and grandpas, and in-laws who often hold down the fort for me late into the night so I can attend when I make the trek. Thanks to Aunt Jennie... this weekend was a night I didn't want to miss.
It's been so long since Ryan has played his own stuff, so it was quite the rare treat to hear him play live - and the backing up band are some of the most talented musicians and friends we know... I got to hang out with some cool people, hit up Ryan's friend Bren for his latest movie reviews (he never lets me down), watch my man do his thing and get a tasty bean and cheese burrito from my favorite mexi-dive on the way home.
All in all, it was a fabulous night.

Monday night I tagged along to one of Sarah, Paul and Ryan's house concerts. I wish I could go to more of these... but they are always late at night, and I have to use my babysitters wisely throughout the week and month. I was happy I got to see this one though. Sarah's new CD is coming out in October, and even though I have listened to it over and over (Ry did the artwork and sang on it, so we get a free copy of course) I loved hearing the songs live. They all took turns playing their own songs. Ryan, Paul and Sarah have the best harmony together. I loved hearing Paul's Carver Town and 6 O'clock News - and Ry's Peaceful Mind. House concerts rule.
